Helping mommy make cookies. She did a great job rolling the dough into balls. She loves helping out in the kitchen, even if it's just licking the spoon!

Trying to jump up and catch the leaves. She loves the little "helicopter" seeds off the maple tree. She has a wagon full of them.

Playing at the park by Grandma and Papa's house. I thought she would be excited to play with sand toys in the sand, but instead she was super duper excited about all the white dandelions in the field.

We enrolled Heidi in a program at church called FMO (friday mornings out) It's a weekly class she goes to on friday mornings from 9:30 to 12:30. They do games, read, crafts, snack, playtime and sing/dance. She loves it. She always brings home a craft of some sort to hang on the fridge that she is so proud of. She reminds us that at school, "everybody crying, miss mommy and daddy, change a diaper" Every week we get a good report from the teachers that Heidi did a great job and had a good day at school. She even has her first backpack that she wears to and from school, it has a cute little kitty on it.

Over the summer, Heidi got a scooter from cousin, Laynie. She loves to scoot around the sidewalk and driveway on it. It also has a neat, little Dora bag on the front to hold little knicks knacks and whatnots.

Heidi has done a lot of playing out in the yard with her swimming pool and water table this summer. She loves to be outside. We've had lunch and dinner picnics too.

This cow was at the Dakota County Fair. Heidi loved the fair with all of the rides, yummy food and animals.

She even got to see baby chickens being born. She kept yelling out, "EGGS, CHICKEN!"

This was her little beetle friend. She thought he was really neat and like to watch him walk around in circles on the cup. But she did NOT like it when he got off the cup and started walking towards her.

She got to comb a goat. She didn't mind them at all. Of course, they were in the little one's face looking for food. I think she's used to that with Zoey.

Update on Yappy McYapperson

Yappy is our nickname for Heidi now a days. She is such a chatterbox. Lots to say, all the time. It's just amazing listening to her and all the things she picks up on.

This is by far the best 2 year old picture ever!
Swimming goggles, a tutu and to top it off, rain boots on the wrong feet.
We'll probably whip this out when she's introducing us to her 1st boyfriend.

The following pictures are of the carnival we took the girls to over the 4th of July weekend. The carnival was part of Apple Valley's Freedom Days.

She was not so sure about this rickety old carousal ride. By the 4th time around, she was in Mike's arms. At that point, she seemed to like it.

Best ride EVER!! We paid double tickets for her to keep sliding down this huge inflatable slide. There were 2 slides with a ladder in the middle. It took her a few times to get it, but after that she kept going and going and going. It was fun to watch her have fun!!

Heidi's May

Miss Heidi had a fun filled May. It is her birthday month after all.
She has grown so much, it's fun to look back a year (and my how that year flew by) to see the differences.

This is her new bike and helmet we got her for her 2nd birthday. We couldn't wait until her birthday on the 13th to give it to her. She loves it and rides it almost everyday. It's a strider bike that is designed to help her learn balance by walking at first then running into a sit and glide. Once she does and gets a little bit older, she can go straight to a big girl bike without training wheels.

She has quite the vocabulary now and is so smart. Her most common phrases are: "what doing mommy/daddy?" "Hannah crying" "Go to park/beach" "Daddy bike" "No Zoey, off!" "The moon up in the sky" "Heidi's house"

She's a great imitator, she's already a pro at pretending (ie: talking on the phone, being a mommy, cooking, etc..) and repeats almost everything she hears (so mommy and daddy have to be careful)!!

She can count up to 20, her teens tend to be smooshed together as one big somethingteen, but once she hits 20 it's "yeah!! *clap hands* yeah!!"
She knows most of her letters, shapes, colors and body parts.
She loves to sing and dance and just loves to read. Her current favorite is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Since turning 2 she has heavily discovered her nose and loves to pick it. She has also found a new way to express herself by hitting and kicking. She also has one heck of an arm when it comes to throwing things. Watch out Hannah!!

We have taken a break from potty training. She is still very interested but was refusing when we would take her, and we didn't want it to be negative experience. So we will revisit this again here in the next month or so when *she's* ready!

We threw her a Dr. Seuss themed birthday party. She had a lot of fun with her friends and family. Her and Hannah were dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2.

At the end of the month, we took a mini vacation with my family up in Cohasset, MN on Big Bass Lake at a resort called Hidden Haven. This is our second year up there. We really have a blast and they kids love the time they share together.
Heidi was a good girl, but did not understand the rules behind sleep overs. We tried to have all the kids (minus Hannah) in the same room for sleeping. Yeah, she's still too little. She would get out of bed and wander, which made the others think they could do the same. Maybe next year!

She recently had her 2 year check up and did pretty well. Only one shot, which she was a trooper for. Now her vision test, that's another story. She wanted nothing to do with the sticker probes they wanted to put on her head.

According to the height predictor, she will be 5'11" when she is 18 years old!!

*We are still in the throws of potty training. So far we have had at least 3 pee pees in the potty, 1 1/2 poopies and some toot toots. She's getting the hang of it. Sometimes she's just fine with the whole routine and other times she doesn't want to be disturbed to go potty. (I know she will hate me when she's older for this photo)

*She is in love with bikes. Her and daddy have gone on a bike ride to the park (her other love) when the weather has been nice. She yells out "BIKE" every time she sees one.

*She is doing really well with counting and her ABCs. On occasion, I have heard her count up to eleven. Also, I have heard her say the alphabet, not always in the correct order. She will say for instance, LMNOP..... HIJK.....XYZ.

*This is first time with pig tails compliments of Auntie Suzie. As you can see, she still loves bananas.

*We've been utilizing time outs now. Her time out spot is on the steps. She sits there until she has calmed down or for about a minute. I would like to think she understands why she's there. I know she's not fond of sitting still.

*At Easter, she got to jump on a trampoline for the 1st time. She loved it!! It is Jason and Suzie's next door neighbor's trampoline. First it was "little kids" turn, then it was the "big kids" turn. After awhile, they all got in and jumped together.

Heidi had such a wonderful time at Easter.

She prepared for the big egg hunt a few days ahead of time. I wanted to make sure she knew what was going on and what to look for. She did a great job. We had about 9 egg hunts that day.

There are many things that Heidi loves, there are 2 in this picture, her meow meow and her dinosaurs.

Here is a picture of some of Heidi's wall art. Surprise mommy, I found a stray red crayon in the loft and drew you a picture. (luckily it was the washable kind and it came right off.)

Laua Party

We went to an elementary school one Saturday morning for a Laua.
It was nice to get Heidi out of the house and have some fun.
There were arts and crafts, hula hoops and beach balls, and Beachcomber Bob performed.
Heidi danced and clapped along to the music.
Hannah slept through the whole thing. But she did have some pint size admirers that checked in on her from time to time.

Ever since she was teeny tiny, we have read to her.
Just recently she has fallen in love with Dr. Suess.
She loves his books as well as the TV show, "The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about that!".
Hopefully her love of books will continue throughout her life.

Final Countdown to Big Sisterhood!!

We have about 3 1/2 weeks left until baby girl comes. Unless she decides to come earlier, we will plan on her arrival sometime in the late morning/early afternoon on Friday, Jan. 28th.
I always felt it was weird to "pick your child's birthday". So therefore (if you are listening little one and would like to help mommy feel more comfortable) you can pick your own birthDAY and come early if you wish!
We are all pretty much ready as we will ever be.
We've been discussing babies and being a big sister to Heidi since we found out we were pregnant.
We are enjoying these last "single child" moments with Heidi as much as we can. We know things will change A LOT for her with a new baby and with getting used to all of the needs/noises that come with a new baby. But Heidi is pretty easy going and adapts well to new situations. I think she will do great. Me on the other hand, I know I will be riding the post-delivery emotional roller coaster!! God help Daddy!!

Heidi had a wonderful Christmas this year. She whooped it up, being her last as a single child that is. Next year will be interesting with a 2 1/2 yr old and an 11 month old. Watch out, the tissue will be a flyin'!!
She was showered with many, many wonderful gifts. Our families are way too generous, but she appreciated and loves every gift.

Heidi did pretty well at her visit to Santa this year.
They had all the props and distractions ready for her picture. Santa even left the room for a few moments so they could get her attention away from him. Then when all was ready, he snuck back in the room and sat on the chair behind her.
Viola!! Perfect Picture!
Then he went and picked her up off her chair and set her on his lap. She was not having that at all. She quickly ran to me, pointing her finger and saying "mama, mama", while Mike snapped photos the whole time.
Santa gave her a toothbrush for being such a good girl!

18 Months

Our first snowfall this year landed on the weekend that Heidi turned 18 months old.
We got her all bundled up, "Christmas Story" style, and out we went to enjoy some snow. She had so much fun and didn't want to come inside.

Now that our little Miss Heidi is.....sigh......18 months old (where the heck did that time go?) she is as funny and smart as ever. She surprises us everyday with something new that she had discovered about herself or the world around her.
She is always on the go, never a dull moment with her. I think since she has learned to walk, she sits down just long enough to enjoy a meal and then it's back to go, go, go.
Here are a few updates:

*She loves trying on shoes. Her own, mama's, dada's, it doesn't matter, she loves shoes. Her glittery, ruby slippers are a favorite besides daddy's slippers.

*She loves dinosaurs!! One of her favorite shows now is Dinosaur Train. She lights up when that comes on and all she does is scream out, "deeeeeeeee!!!" and spins in circles!
She has a collection of 2 dinosaurs, so far! They make it out on almost all of our errand adventures.

*Another show she has taken an interest in is The Cat in the Hat. She has 2 Dr. Seuss books that we read to her and she just noticed tonight that the Cat is on the back of both books. She grinned from ear to ear with that discovery!

*She had her first "big kids" meal at Perkins the other night and devoured it!

*She recently got a molar (her first of the 4). That was a fun adventure, but not really. But at least we know what to expect the next time around. We suspect that will be soon since the other molar is just under the surface and her gums look red and puffy.

*She discovered the fun of the dryer. She loves helping with laundry.

*We met up with some friends from my Mommy and Me group. We met at an indoor playground. She had so much fun. She learned to climb the stairs and go down the slide, all by herself. She even went in the moonwalk and had a blast. She towers over her other little friends.

*Speaking of that, she had her 18 month check up. (she didn't appreciate any of her exam and made mommy sweat like crazy holding on to her flailing body.)
Her current stats are:

height: 34"
Her doctor said she is a healthy girl and is growing like a weed. She got 3 shots and did OK, lots of crying, but she survived.

*She knows all of her animals sounds, the H and E in her name and she can talk through the alphabet and point to where she's at as she talks (even though you can't understand her).

*Potty Watch 2010 is still going but we're taking it slow. She still tells us when she goes poo poo, she still sits on the potty chair and waves bye bye to pee pee in the potty. We just have to commit to it and do it. So, we'll keep ya posted.

Apple Orchard

We went to 2 apple orchards last saturday. It was a beautiful day, sunny and almost 80! I never imagined going to get apples and pumpkins in October wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt. Good grief, it was warm!!

She was an apple stealer that day. But, they were on the ground so technically, the tree was throwing them away anyways.

New things...........

*Heidi got a new pet today. She got a red and blue crowntail betta fish. He lives in her room and is currently waiting for a name besides, "ISH!! ISH!! ISH!!"

*We have started potty training. I have been slowly introducing her to the potty. It has been out for weeks now. She's been sitting on it, hiding things in the potty part of it and using it as a step stool. But just this past weekend it was; diaper off, sit and potty. Just before bath time, while the water is running, was when I was hoping that the sounds would invoke a little pee pee action. Not yet, we're just starting, so I will keep you informed on "Potty Watch 2010".

*She recently started sleeping with a big girl pillow. So far, so good. I think she enjoys it.

*She got a new push lawnmower. Mommy quickly regretted the decision to get that. It's loud, it plays music, it roars like a real lawnmower, but all of that doesn't matter because she loves it!!

*Her new word that she loves to yell out is "MAMA!"

*We start swimming lessons on Sunday. It's through the community at one of the local middle schools. I know she will do great since she loved the pool up north.

*We went to a little Mnpls bookstore called The Wild Rumpus. It's this neat little nook that has all sorts of animals (chickens, cats, chincillas, ferrets, tarantulas, birds) and story time. She loved it! She was right in the middle of everyone during story time. She doesn't sit still (yet!) so I figured, "what the heck, let her check things out". We picked up a new book that day called, "Children make terrible pets".

Vacation!!!

We went to Orr, Mn for vacation the first week of August. We stayed at the Aspen resort on beautiful Pelican Lake. We had awesome weather, minus a few days of rain.
Here we are getting our picture taken with Billy the Blue Gill.

Heidi did pretty well with her life jacket, considering it was the first time she had it on. Those things are pretty snug.

Swimming in the pool and loving it!!! She had so much fun swimming. We don't have easy access to a pool at home, so we took advantage of the pool at the lodge almost everyday.
With some help from Grandma, she would jump to mommy's arms off the side of the pool.

We got her this neat floaty raft. It's for little ones to help make the intro to water easy. But most the time she didn't use it, she liked hanging on to mommy and daddy much better. She even went under water, briefly, and seemed OK with it.

The resort ducks are pretty brave. They came right over to our deck, seeing that we were throwing them bread to eat and all. I think that made it was easier for them to trust us. Heidi loved to watch them eat.

Heidi loved chasing the ducks. By day 2 of our trip, she was quaking right along with them.

Tuesday was "Frost fish cookies at the Lodge". So we went and had a good time. Heidi didn't eat her cookie, daddy did. She was having too much fun tickling the girl at the next table.

One of Heidi's new words or phrases is "Wee wee". Which to her means, swinging!! This was an activity Heidi did A LOT on vacation. Swing, swing, swing!!

Anything goes on vacation right? Eating out on the deck.....why not!! She thought that was the coolest. Heck, it was easier to clean up. She had fun watching everything go on outside while chomping away on chili mac!

Little Miss Heidi loved playing with her soccer ball on the 4th of July.
The day was very hot and humid and eventually she ended up running around with just her diaper and sandals on. Poor thing was so low to the ground she hardly got a gust of wind to cool her off. Oh, and "ball!" is one of her newest and mastered words now. Anything round is called, "ball! ball!"

We know, we stink at updating this. I wish it was because we are sitting around enjoying the weather with a couple cold ones. But nope, we just have a very active and very mobile toddler.
She loves to walk, be outside and did I mention WALK!! She hasn't stopped since she first started back in late May.

Our little Miss Heidi Bear had her one year appointment last week.

Her current stats are:
weight: 27.1# (98%)
height: 31.3 inches (94%)
head: 18.5 inches (90-91%)
She received 4 shots at her appointment and did great, with a little crying of course.

She is walking ALL THE TIME now!! She just loves her new found freedom. We got her a pair of Teva sandals (perfect for wide little feet) and you can tell she has already worn them in.

She is still mastering the craft of eating with a spoon and fork. We just got her some suction cup-like bowls to practice out of too. This morning's oatmeal stayed put, not by the approval of Zoey though.

She only gets the bottle now at nap and before bed. So far, I don't think she minds. She drinks well out of a sippy cup and practices with her regular cup in the tub.

Her hair is still blonde and growing like a weed. No haircuts for now, sorry Auntie, we need to get some length first!!

She still only has 5 teeth, but it looks like a little one will be popping through on top here any day now. She is still great at brushing her teeth, thank goodness!

She talks and sings, dances to music, claps and taps beats on anything she can find. She seems to be very music motivated. Loves to watch singers/dancers on TV. She hums to herself when she eats and when she's falling to sleep.

The only words she says right now are her forms of "tickle tickle" "ma ma ma" "no no no" and "bop". She also signs willingly too. More, milk, eat are common signs. We work on everything all the time, not knowing when she will whip it out and use it.

Pool Fun

Thanks to everyone who came to Heidi's 1st Birthday party. She had a great time with exception to the cake icing in the eye. We really appreciate all of the great family and friends we have to celebrate Heidi's 1st birthday with. I have some pictures from the party here.

Heidi and I went to an indoor park/playground today with Auntie Suzie, cousins Laynie and Wyatt.
We enjoyed a concert in the park by Bob the Beachcomber. Heidi and I went down to the stage to dance and sing.
We had lunch, played with basketballs, took a ride on a wheeled seat in the gym, played on the playground, went down a really neat slide and had cake.
It was so nice to "get outside" on a very rainy day!

We still can't believe that our sweet, little peanut is going to be ONE this Thursday. It was a year ago today that I started going into labor with her and counting contractions, waiting for her arrival.
We have enjoyed watching her grow, learn many new things, eat all sorts of different foods, adventure to many different parks and places, met all sorts of new friends and to think, the best is yet to come! How lucky are we?
We are excited for her to take her first steps into toddler-hood. They are coming soon, she has already taken 1/2 steppies to and from furniture, so she's well on her way. Such a big girl!!
It had been a blast being her mommy and daddy, what a wonderful and rewarding job we get to do everyday with this beautiful and happy child.
We are also excited to celebrate this milestone with our friends and family at her upcoming birthday party.
Here's to Heidi, her first birthday and many, many more to come!!

Heidi will walk with this little car, back and forth in the loft. She just loves cruising around. Just recently she discovered she can do the same thing with a full box of diapers. Watch out Zoey!!

She just loves clapping to the "If you're happy and you know it.." song! She is so musically inclined. She loves all kinds of music, listening to singing, watching dancing on movies/TV, she also wiggles and bops to the beat of the music.

Aimee, Heidi and I headed to St. Paul today to have some pictures taken by Scott (check out his website). Heidi did a great job and she also got to play with Ella. We can't wait to see the results from the photo shoot. Scott let me put the pocket wizard on my camera and take some shots.

Heidi Update

It's been awhile since I've posted a Heidi update.
She is 10 months old now, hard to believe since I remember bringing her home from the hospital last week.
Here we go:

*She had her 9 month appointment this last Monday. She weighs 22 # 15 oz. and is 28 1/4 inch long. She got one vaccine and some blood squeezed out of her toe. She did very well with some crying of course. Next visit is her 1 year. *tear*
*She is walking with support now. She gets around and to and from furniture pretty well. She pulls herself up onto everything she can. She wants to walk sooooo bad.
*She is feeding herself, which is quite the messy job. Tonight was cottage cheese with peach chunks.
*She has been practicing drinking from a regular cup in the bathtub during bath time. She's getting the hang of it and it's funny to watch her. She giggles when the cool water rolls down her tummy.
*She likes to crawl around with her stackable rings on her hands. She loves the noise they make as they clank on the wood floors.
*She loves organizing and reorganizing her sock basket. She looks each pair over very carefully. Those she doesn't like, get whipped out and onto the floor.
*She finished up her ECFE classes this last Tuesday. We learned lots of new songs, played with new toys and books and made some new friends. She really enjoyed going to class.
*She's crawling up the stairs. Watch out!!
*She loves our walks with Zoey in the evening. She gets a kick out of watching Zoey.
*She babbles and makes funny noises with her mouth and nose. Snorts, growls, breathing heavy exhales through her nostrils, clicking her tongue, popping her lips and screaming high pitched squeals! Our favorite!!

We're looking forward to family pictures this sunday, more warm weather, Grandma and Grandpa Boehnlein's visit in April and accomplishing her first steps. More pictures to follow. Thanks for tuning in!

HAPPY 2010!!!!

*I had the best Christmas a kid could ever have. I spend time with both sides of my family. I enjoyed seeing all of my cousins, aunties and uncles, and my grandparents. I got the neatest toys, some really cute clothes and lots of lovin'!

*I have 2 teeth now. I use them to help chomp up my favorite yogurt puffs.
Now that I have them, Mama thought it was a perfect time to introduce me to brushing. I love my Eeyore toothbrush. (Thanks Auntie and Unckie) I love to squeak it on my teeth.

*I am on the move now.....as much as I can. I am rolling around still, sitting as good as ever, pushing my tummy up off the floor and swaying back and forth on my knees and hands. It won't be long before I will be crawling and pulling myself up to stand.

*I'm starting to notice when Mama and Daddy leave the room. I'm not quite sure what to think of it yet, but I know I don't like it especially when I am tired.

*Mama and I are starting a new ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) classes next Tues. We're not sure what to expect, but we'll keep you updated. The classes run through mid-March. I think it will help with "cabin fever"!!

*I had Macaroni and Cheese for the first time over Christmas break. I loved it!!! I also tried re-fried beans today. They were very yummy!!

*Mama and Daddy got me a new toddler car seat. It is very comfy. I have more room now and don't need to be carried around in my car seat.

*Speaking of that, I rode in a cart for the first time over Christmas break too. I got to see FleetFarm in a whole different way, I loved it. Oh the freedom!

**UPDATE** Heidi is now rolling all over the place. Front to back, back to front, she's a crazy little roller.

...Sit up! But I do sometimes lose my balance and fall. My boppy pillow helps me on the days I'm a bit tipsy from all of those new foods that Mommy mixes up for me to eat. Bananas rock!

I also flip over on to my stomach but I haven't quite figured out how to flip over to my back.

Daddy takes a lot of pictures of me. But that is OK, I do not mind.

Check out my sweet fuzzy REI winter hat. It is the Beez Neez. It keeps my noggin warm.

Heidi and Santa

Heidi got her picture taken with Santa today. Everything went well until Santa's assistants went a little crazy with the stimulation to make Heidi smile, then the crying began. This is just a picture I took. Of course the picture taken by Santa's photographers is copyrighted and they want $100 for the rights to it with a digital copy. Oh well, I guess Santa has to get paid to feed all of those raindeer.

*Heidi has been doing very well. Growing like a weed!
*She has been sitting up, with a little less assistance everyday, for quite some time now. I think she prefers that to lying on her back.
*She is still working on rolling over. I think it's true, her chubbiness has gotten in the way of a successful roll over from back to tummy. She did have a few roll overs this past week. Her first was at her friend Cody's house. The other 2 were at home with daddy. She's getting there.
*Crawling....nope.
*Pushing up.....nope.
*Standing.....assisted, yes!
*Teething...nope.
In due time, she will master those as well.
*She is doing a great job with eating her pureed fruits and veggies. I attempted cooking and pureeing some myself. It was pretty easy and has saved us some money!! So needless to say, our freezer is full of baggies labeled with what every little frozen ice cubed veggies that's inside. Her favorites so far are bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and squash. She prefers g.beans over peas any day!! She is such a funny eater. Talks, coos and hums the entire meal. I'll have Mike throw some videos up on here so you can watch. It's so funny!!
*She has her 6 month appointment today. I think today will involve 4 shots again. Dang, when will her poor little chubber legs catch a break?? It will be interesting to see where all of her measurements are. She is currently in 6-9 month and 9 month clothes. It is so fun dressing her in all of her cute outfits.
*She still loves Sesame Street. Watches it everyday. Mama and Daddy can't get enough!@#*$?
*We took her out to the dog park last week. We didn't know what her reaction would be with all the dogs and noise. She absolutely LOVED it. She laughed and laughed! It was so fun and such a relief to see her having a good time. With Mama working at a vet's office, animals are sure to be a part of our lives for a long, long time. She just loves her Libby kitty and Zoey pup.
*She is still sleeping through the night like a champ. She goes to bed around 8:00 and sleeps until 6:30ish. Takes a few good cat naps throughout the day too.
